I returned to visit the STC Suncoast and STC Orlando chapters in October 2013. We had wonderful meetings in 2012 and it was great to see everyone again this year:
- Orlando
On October 17, 2013, I led the discussion about Leadership and Team Dynamics. Helping a team work as effectively as possible in an important topic to me, and this discussion, which is based on a book by Patrick Lencioni, is perfect for a monthly program meeting. The Orlando chapter serves central Florida and is a 6-time winner of the STC Chapter of Distinction. I enjoyed seeing everyone and sharing our ideas.
- Suncoast
On October 19, 2013, I led a 2-hour workshop about Delivering Content through Mobile Applications and WordPress. This workshop introduced mobile application and website development technologies, including Conduit Mobile and WordPress. Through demonstration and discussion, we viewed how information streams can be published through websites, Twitter, Facebook, and other internet locations, and then delivered to your users when and where they want it. With WYSIWYG development tools and frameworks, you can quickly create mobile applications that deliver content to your audience, and you can explore these technologies for free. No previous development experience was needed as we explored several new methods and approaches for delivering information. The STC Suncoast chapter serves a large geographic area on the west coast of Florida and I was impressed by the group of 20 who gathered for this workshop on a Saturday morning.
