On December 13, 2013, I had the opportunity to present a 3-hour workshop about Delivering Content through Mobile Applications and WordPress. This was the second time I presented this material as a workshop and we were able to explore the information in many different ways. I enjoyed discussing various approaches companies are using to deliver content and learning from those who attended the workshop. The STC Houston chapter does a great job organizing these educational offerings and working with the Red Cross to make them available for minimal cost to its members (this workshop was free to all attendees).
During the workshop, I introduced mobile application and website development technologies, including Conduit Mobile and WordPress. Through demonstration and discussion, we viewed how information streams can be published through websites, Twitter, Facebook, and other internet locations, and then delivered to your users when and where they want it. With WYSIWYG development tools and frameworks, you can quickly create mobile applications that deliver content to your audience, and you can explore these technologies for free. No previous development experience was needed as we explored several new methods and approaches for delivering information. What a great group we had and I was happy to see it was a lucky Friday the 13th.
